The Role
Reporting to the CEO, the Divisional Manager – Engineering and Development will play a pivotal leadership role, guiding teams and aligning efforts with Banlaw’s strategic objectives. This role requires a strong technical background, exceptional leadership skills, and a strategic mindset to deliver on ambitious goals and drive organisational growth. Your primary focus will be on leadership, mentoring, empowering, and developing your team to achieve outstanding results. With this strong foundation, you will oversee engineering and product development activities, ensuring innovation, compliance, and exceptional quality standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and mentorship to engineering and development teams, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Align engineering, product development, and R&D strategies with Banlaw’s business goals and market needs.
  • Oversee product development lifecycles, ensuring timely delivery of innovative, high-quality solutions.
  • Drive R&D initiatives to explore new technologies and maintain market leadership
  • Build strong customer relationships and align engineering solutions with business and operational requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and Banlaw’s quality policies.
  • Manage budgets and optimise resources to enhance cost efficiency and profitability.
  • Track team performance, implement improvements, and promote professional growth to build a high-performing team.

About You:

  • Exceptional leadership skills, with a track record of building and inspiring high-performing teams.
  • Proven experience in engineering and product development, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Strong technical expertise with a demonstrated ability to manage complex engineering projects.
  • Strategic planning and decision-making abilities to align engineering efforts with business goals.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or a related field); advanced degree or MBA preferred.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in the mining or industrial sectors is highly desirable.
