Position Overview:

Verve Partners are seeking a motivated and skilled Electrical Drafter to join a dynamic team of engineers in one of the most reputable power consultancies in Newcastle.

The successful candidate will primarily focus on drafting switchboards, substations, and related electrical infrastructure projects. While experience in primary drafting is desirable, we are open to considering candidates with a civil drafting background who demonstrate a keen interest in learning primary drafting.


  • Drafting switchboards, substations, and associated electrical infrastructure projects.
  • Collaborating with engineers and project managers to ensure accurate and timely drafting solutions.
  • Ensuring drawings are produced to scale and meet project specifications.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of primary design concepts (training provided for suitable candidates).
  • Adhering to company standards and industry regulations throughout the drafting process.
  • Participating in the continuous improvement of drafting processes and procedures.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in drafting, preferably in electrical infrastructure projects.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential; experience with Microstation is advantageous (training provided).
  • Strong technical aptitude and the ability to learn new software and concepts quickly.
  • A keen interest in Digital Engineering (BIM) and its application within the industry.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate drawings to scale.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • A proactive and self-motivated attitude with a willingness to learn and develop professionally.
