As a Project Manager, you’ll collaborate with stakeholders to successfully deliver operational projects across Newcastle Anglican and its agencies.

Newcastle Anglican
Newcastle Anglican, has a rich history celebrating 175 years within our region as the longest-serving congregation, founded by Bishop William Tyrrell in 1847. With over fifty parishes in the district, their footprint extends from the Central Coast, Lake Macquarie, Newcastle, Hunter, Paterson, and Port Stephens to the Manning region of New South Wales, Australia.

With over 2500+ employees (and countless volunteers) the Newcastle Anglican ministry meets the needs of the community through their agencies Anglican Care, Samaritans, and Newcastle Anglican Schools.

Newcastle Anglican also supports the elderly community through its aged care service, Anglican Care, which caters to 600 residents and continues to grow its services throughout the community with Home Care and Retirement Living services. Additionally, their portfolio of four schools is committed to providing inclusive educational environment rich in opportunities for over 3000 students across our region.

The Role:
In this role, you will lead, coordinate, and manage projects from start to finish, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and effective project execution. You will be responsible for budget, schedule, risk management, and stakeholder communication to ensure successful project outcomes.
You’ll be expected to liaise with various teams, maintain project documentation, and address any project risks that may arise. This is an excellent opportunity to make an impact in a collaborative environment while delivering high-quality results.

Key Deliverables:

  • Lead projects from early concept through to delivery and handover to the client.
  • Maintain the currency and history of projects throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate and lead project delivery, including budget, schedule, cost, quality, and risk.
  • Manage documentation teams/packages as required.
  • Liaise with various stakeholders and attend site visits.
  • Build long-term relationships with key stakeholders, including the organisation’s leadership team, project board members, and business users.
  • Develop a deep knowledge of the organisation and its functions, building horizontal and vertical relationships with business leaders to deliver the best business results.
  • Identify potential project delays and offer alternatives, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Continually ensure stakeholder satisfaction through regular communication and engagement.
  • Monitor and escalate project status risks that could impact deliveries.
  • Embed project governance in project delivery.
  • Perform other tasks as reasonably requested by the Manager.

Essential Experience and Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Project Management, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years experience delivering operational projects
