Structural/ Mechanical Drafter – 6 – 12 month contract

Seeking a Mechanical or Structural Draftsperson with min 5 years experience. AutoCAD 3D experience essential.

About the role:
This position would suit a Structural Draftsman or Mechanical with Structural exposure with 5 years 3D drafting experience. You will work closely with a senior draftsperson who holds in-depth industry knowledge.
The workload is diverse and will involve structural steel design and detailing, design of walkways, cranes, conveyors, materials handling machines, and much more, within brownfield and greenfield projects. Applicants applying will have a passion for design, new product development but most importantly continuous improvement.  

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce detailed 3D structural and mechanical design models and drawings, working alongside experienced design engineers and draftsman within the engineering department.
• Assist with project coordination to achieve overall business requirements
• Liaise with clients and sub-contractors if required 
• Learn about material estimation and control of bills of materials 
• Attend site trips as and when required 

To be a successful fit for this full-time role, you will have:

• A TAFE diploma (or equivalent) and 2 years’ experience within Structural / Mechanical Design 
• Experience with Inventor and AutoCAD 3D
• Team player and passionate about 3D design  
• Available for immediate start
