Jada’s Q+As

How would you describe yourself in five words?
Funny, motivated, compassionate, passionate and full of grandma vibes.
What's your favourite quote?
"Lead with empathy, grow with purpose, and never stop learning."
What are your hobbies/favourite activities outside of work?
You'll usually find me watching a comfort movie, playing board games, getting creative with arts and crafts, shopping, relaxing at the beach in my floatie, escaping to a farm for the weekend or fishing with my high school sweetheart.
How does what you do make the world a better place?
I believe kindness and respect should always come first. Whether I'm helping a candidate, supporting a consultant or speaking with a client, I believe small acts of empathy can have a lasting impact.
What are you really passionate about in your role?
Creating an exceptional experience for both candidates and clients. I love making sure every detail is taken care of so our consultants can focus on building relationships while I help keep the recruitment process organised, efficient and stress-free. I'm also passionate about continually learning new systems, processes and everything recruitment has to offer.
What do you enjoy most about working in recruitment?
I love that every day is different. Recruitment is about building genuine relationships, understanding what motivates people and helping connect talented candidates with opportunities where they can thrive. Every successful placement starts with listening, communication and trust.
What makes a great candidate experience?
Clear communication, honesty and empathy. Whether someone is applying for their first role or an executive position, everyone deserves to know where they stand. I believe keeping candidates informed throughout the recruitment process creates a better experience for everyone.
What industries does Verve Partners recruit across?
I support our consultants across Executive Search, Engineering, Construction, Technology, Finance, Human Resources, Marketing & Sales and Office Support recruitment. Working across multiple industries means I'm constantly learning about different businesses and the people who help them succeed.
Why did you choose a career in recruitment?
I've always wanted to work in Human Resources because I enjoy helping people and building relationships. Recruitment combines both. I love solving problems, understanding what businesses need and helping candidates find opportunities that are the right long-term fit.
What are you studying at the moment?
I'm currently completing my Certificate IV in Human Resources and plan to continue into a Diploma. I'm passionate about continually developing my knowledge so I can provide even better support to candidates, clients and my colleagues.
What skills do you bring to recruitment?
My background in retail leadership taught me how to manage teams, deliver exceptional customer experiences and stay organised in fast-paced environments. Those skills translate naturally into recruitment, where communication, attention to detail and relationship building are essential.
Where do you see yourself in the future?
My goal is to become a Talent Specialist, partnering with businesses to help them attract and hire exceptional people while supporting candidates to build rewarding careers. I'm excited to continue growing within Verve Partners and the recruitment industry.
What does your role as a Recruitment Coordinator involve?
I support our Talent Specialists throughout the recruitment process by coordinating candidate registrations, formatting CVs, verifying right-to-work documentation, assisting with tender submissions, managing recruitment administration and helping deliver an exceptional experience for both candidates and clients. Behind every successful placement is a well-organised process, and I love making sure everything runs smoothly.
How do you stay up to date with the recruitment industry?
I'm naturally curious, so I'm always learning. I regularly research market trends, ask questions, learn from our experienced consultants and continue building my HR knowledge through study and professional development.
What makes Verve Partners different?
One of the things I've noticed most since joining Verve Partners is how much everyone genuinely cares about the people behind every placement. Whether we're recruiting for Executive Search, Engineering, Technology, Construction, Finance, Human Resources or Office Support roles, the focus is always on building long-term relationships rather than simply filling vacancies. As a Newcastle recruitment agency, we take the time to understand both our clients and candidates so we can create the right match for everyone.
What advice would you give someone looking for a new job?
Take the time to think about what you really want from your next role—not just salary, but the culture, leadership, career progression and work-life balance that will help you thrive. Be honest about your goals and don't be afraid to ask questions throughout the recruitment process. A good Talent Specialist is there to guide you, provide market insights and help you make an informed career decision, not just find you a job.
What do you enjoy most about helping candidates?
I love getting to know people and learning what motivates them. Every candidate has their own story, career goals and reasons for looking for a new opportunity. Being able to support someone through what can sometimes feel like a stressful process and seeing them find a role where they're genuinely excited to go to work is incredibly rewarding. Knowing I've helped make that journey a little easier is one of my favourite parts of working in recruitment.
How can candidates prepare for an interview?
Preparation builds confidence. Research the company, understand the role you're interviewing for and think about examples that demonstrate your skills and experience. It's also important to prepare a few questions of your own—an interview is just as much about finding out if the company is the right fit for you. At Verve Partners, we work closely with our candidates before interviews to make sure they feel informed, prepared and ready to put their best foot forward.
