HSEQ Advisor
Verve Partners is partnering with an exciting organisation, to recruit a HSEQ Advisor to join their collaborative team. With a head office based 30 minutes from Newcastle in the Hunter Valley. This organisation invests in its people and strives to deliver an outstanding experience for its customers. Reporting to the General Manager, you will be able to utilise your sound communication skills to engage with senior stakeholders and the wider business. This role will offer you the opportunity to expand your career within a strong and supportive team environment.
The Opportunity
You will be responsible to drive, lead and coach managers, supervisors and staff on safety and health matters, to assist the business to work safely and achieve zero harm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain the company’s compliance with all applicable Australian Standards and Legislation.
- The key member for point of contact regarding HSEQ related matters, providing accurate and useful advice and support aligned to policies and relevant legislative guidelines.
- Undertaking and overseeing HSEQ audit activities (internal and external).
- Identifying hazards, conducting incident investigations, and providing corrective action recommendations.
- Contributing to planning and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- End to end management of workers compensation.
Skills & Experience:
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety.
- Experience with managing regulatory bodies (WorkSafe, EPA, NHVR) and Unions.
- Five years of experience in civil construction or similar field.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (an advantage).
- You will have a strong understanding and working knowledge of legislation, standards, and codes relevant to this industry as you will be required to provide specialist advice and assistance in all areas of Workplace Health and Safety (Construction/Manufacturing).
- A high level of communication, leadership and people skills.
