Beck’s Q+As

What was your first paid job?
Scooping ice creams at Kiwi Waffle & Cone in Warners Bay.
What's your journey to Verve Partners?
I started working in administration in 2013 after I finished school and gained a Business Administration Traineeship. One of my favourite parts was HR and recruitment – this is what drew me to Verve Partners.
What are your hobbies/favourite activities outside of work?
I'm a crazy dog lady, so taking my pup for walks through the bush is a regular activity. I'm also part of a social netball team.
What do you like best about your work?
The fact that Verve Partners has given me the opportunity to progress my career in such a supportive environment has been great. I’ve got to learn from industry leaders in all things recruitment, and I feel it’s really set me up for success.
What does your day-to-day role involve?
Candidates, candidates and more candidates! I work closely with Ash, sourcing and matching the right talent with the roles that she brings in from our clients.
What’s your favourite Newcastle Haunt?
The Autumn Rooms on Darby. Hands down, they make the best coffee in Newcastle!
Email, phone or in-person?
Phone.
Do you personally support any local charities/community organisations?
I’m a big advocate for the RSPCA and have previously run multiple RSPCA Cupcake Day fundraisers throughout my career. The animals can’t speak for themselves, so I feel it’s up to us humans to advocate for them.
