Verve Partners are proud to support a long-time client of ours, a respected local consultancy with a strong reputation for technical excellence, with the hiring of a Principal Acoustics Manager to lead and grow their Newcastle-based team.

Reporting directly to senior leadership, you’ll take ownership of the Acoustics function guiding project delivery, mentoring a capable team, strengthening systems, and driving sustainable commercial performance.

An opportunity to shape the direction of the department in a hands-on leadership role that blends technical oversight, people development, financial accountability, and client engagement.

You’ll be an experienced technical professional with leadership capability, able to step confidently into a role that requires accountability, communication, and commercial awareness.

In this role you will be responsible for:

Lead project delivery including proposal review, technical oversight, reporting quality and client liaison
Manage complex projects from planning through to completion — ensuring timeliness, profitability and high client satisfaction
Monitor project budgets, scheduling and resource allocation across the department
Provide mentorship, performance feedback and professional development pathways for team members
Foster a positive, collaborative culture that supports engagement, retention and morale
Oversee departmental financial performance including budgeting, invoicing and monthly reporting
Strengthen client relationships and contribute to business development and growth initiatives
Maintain quality systems, compliance standards and WHS practices within the department
Support continuous improvement across templates, processes and audit activities

You will ideally bring:

Proven experience in acoustics consulting / technical project delivery
Circa 7-10 years Acoustics Engineering Consulting experience
Knowledge of NSW environmental legislation
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a team
Confidence liaising with clients and representing the business externally
Sound commercial and project management understanding (budgets, timelines, profitability)
A proactive mindset with strong time management and prioritisation skills
Degree qualification in environmental science, physics or engineering
Current drivers licence
