Civil Engineer Ready to Step into Project Management?

Due to continued growth, our client is seeking an ambitious Civil Engineer ready to take the next step toward Project Management.

Gaining real ownership across civil infrastructure and development projects while working alongside experienced industry leaders.

You’ll be exposed to projects across subdivisions, roads, stormwater, utilities, health, education, and broader infrastructure developments throughout Newcastle and the Hunter.

This is a genuine career progression opportunity for an engineer who enjoys coordination, stakeholder management, and seeing projects delivered from concept through to completion.

Key Role Responsibilities

Working closely with senior Project Managers and technical specialists, you’ll play a key role in delivering projects across their full lifecycle.
You’ll gain exposure to:

• Civil infrastructure and land development projects
• Design coordination and consultant management
• Contractor and stakeholder liaison
• Site inspections and project delivery oversight
• Project programming, reporting, and documentation
• Contract administration and project controls
• Client-side project management methodologies

This role offers far greater project ownership and client exposure than a traditional consultancy design position.

What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for a motivated Civil Engineer who is ready to step up and take on increasing responsibility.
You’ll ideally bring:

• Degree qualifications in Civil Engineering or related discipline
• Circa 5 years’ experience within civil infrastructure or land development projects
• Consultancy or project delivery experience across subdivisions, roads, drainage, earthworks, or utilities
• Exposure to project coordination, contractor management, or client interaction
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• A proactive mindset and genuine interest in moving toward Project Management

You do not need to be a fully established Project Manager already – my client is looking for someone with the right foundation, attitude, and ambition to prove themselves in the role.
