Finance Manager

An opportunity has become available for an experienced Finance Manager to lead the finance function and provide commercial support to the executive leadership team. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who enjoys balancing technical accounting, commercial analysis and people leadership within a dynamic, project-based environment.
The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the leadership team, you will take ownership of the Australian finance function, leading a capable team while ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong governance and commercial support across the business.

Working closely with operational leaders, you will provide meaningful financial insight to support strategic decision-making while maintaining compliance with Australian and international reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end reporting process and deliver accurate financial reports.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and financial planning activities.
• Oversee payroll, taxation, treasury and statutory compliance.
• Provide commercial analysis and financial insights to support business performance.
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable and day-to-day financial operations.
• Coordinate external audits and year-end reporting requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement across finance processes and systems.
• Lead, mentor and develop a small finance team.
• Support ERP system enhancements and broader process improvement initiatives.
• Manage reporting requirements for the international parent organisation.

About You
You are an experienced finance professional who combines strong technical accounting capability with commercial acumen and an approachable leadership style.
You will also bring:

• Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or Commerce.
• CA or CPA qualifications.
• Previous experience in a Finance Manager or senior finance position.
• Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards and statutory compliance.
• Experience within engineering, construction, manufacturing, infrastructure or another project-based environment will be highly regarded.
• Strong ERP and financial systems experience.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to partner with operational stakeholders.
• A proactive and adaptable approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities and reporting deadlines.
