Step off the tools and into operations, supporting production, quality and scheduling for a growing Australian manufacturer.

Verve Partners have partnered with a leading Australian manufacturer delivering high-quality engineered solutions across multiple industries.

They are seeking an experienced Operations Support Officer to support production, quality assurance, scheduling and day to day manufacturing
operations.

About the role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role will support the production team across key business functions including quality assurance, scheduling, continuous improvement and manufacturing coordination.

You will work closely with workshop supervisors, production teams, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure manufacturing activities are well planned, documented and delivered to the required quality standards.

Key tasks and responsibilities

  • Support the Operations Manager with production scheduling, workflow coordination and manufacturing documentation.
  • Review and interpret engineering and fabrication drawings.
  • Liaise with supervisors to prioritise production targets and workflow requirements.
  • Coordinate QA documentation, production paperwork, work packs and Inspection and Test Plans.
  • Create and review Bills of Materials for purchasing and project delivery.
  • Monitor NCR processes and ISO 9001 quality management requirements.
  • Conduct QA inspections and ensure completed work meets specifications and standards.
  • Coordinate with subcontract workshops and fabrication partners when required.
  • Support continuous improvement across production, quality and manufacturing processes.

What you will bring

  • Experience in steel fabrication, manufacturing or workshop environments.
  • Trade background highly regarded, including boilermaker, fabricator or sheet metal trades.
  • Experience in workshop supervision, leading hand or production coordination roles will be well regarded.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering and fabrication drawings.
  • Strong understanding of QA processes, NCRs, documentation and production planning.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and practical problem-solving ability.
  • Confidence working across both technical and administrative responsibilities.
  • A desire to transition from hands on fabrication into operations, planning and quality support.
