Senior Drafter

The Opportunity
Our client is a respected regional engineering consultancy specialising in water and wastewater infrastructure. With a strong pipeline of projects across NSW, they offer a boutique environment where collaboration, autonomy, and real project ownership are part of everyday work.
Based in Maitland, this Senior Drafter role will see you partnering closely with engineers and stakeholders to deliver high-quality design documentation across a diverse portfolio, ranging from pipelines and pump stations to treatment facilities and bulk water assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineers to gather design requirements and project specifications
- Develop detailed technical drawings using CAD (Civil 3D)
- Produce layouts, diagrams, and plans to communicate design intent
- Review and refine drawings based on engineering feedback
- Ensure all documentation meets drafting standards and compliance requirements
- Identify design issues and contribute to practical, efficient solutions
- Manage drawing data, version control, and documentation processes
- Liaise with clients, councils, and regulatory bodies as required
- Support a safe and compliant working environment
What You Bring
- Degree in Engineering, Design, or a related discipline
- 7-10+ years proven experience as a Drafter in a civil or infrastructure environment
- Strong proficiency in Civil 3D (Plant 3D experience highly regarded)
- Experience working on large-scale pipeline designs and complex plan sets would be ideal
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage large datasets and meet project deadlines
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- A current driver’s licence and willingness to travel as needed
