Our client, a respected engineering consultancy, is experiencing sustained demand across complex HV projects. With that comes the need for a senior engineer who can lead from the front: technically strong, commercially aware, and invested in developing others.
You’ll work closely with leadership and project teams, ensuring designs are practical, compliant, and delivered efficiently while helping build a stronger, more capable engineering function.

In This Role
You’ll carry technical authority across high-voltage earthing projects, ensuring quality, consistency, and real-world performance.

• Leading HV earthing system analysis, design, and reporting across varied projects
• Delivering and overseeing earthing testing (soil resistivity, fall of potential, current injection)
• Reviewing designs, calculations, and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Managing project timelines, budgets, and deliverables without over-engineering solutions
• Coordinating internal teams and maintaining clear communication with clients
• Identifying risks early and managing scope, programme, and commercial considerations
• Supporting proposals and contributing to ongoing client relationships
• Mentoring junior engineers providing direction, feedback, and development

What You’ll Bring
You’re a credible senior engineer first – someone with the depth to lead technically and the judgement to know what works in practice.

• Extensive experience in high voltage earthing system engineering (analysis and reporting)
• Proven capability in earthing system testing: soil resistivity, fall of potential, current injection
• High proficiency in CDEGS (preferred)
• Exposure to HV power system tools such as PTW or ETAP
• Strong project delivery experience across budgets, timelines, and client expectations
• Confidence working directly with clients and internal stakeholders
• A natural mentor committed to developing junior engineers
• Practical mindset: focused on efficient, buildable, and fit-for-purpose solutions
