The Opportunity

Verve Partners is proud to be partnering with a respected regional engineering consultancy specialising in water and wastewater solutions. Based in Maitland, this agile and highly experienced team delivers end-to-end services—from investigation through to design and project management—across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects.
As a Senior Engineer, you’ll work closely with leadership while enjoying genuine autonomy, owning projects and fostering strong client relationships. This is a role for someone who thrives in a boutique environment where your voice is heard and your expertise is valued.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of water infrastructure projects from concept through to detailed design and implementation
  • Develop technical designs, reports, and documentation aligned with project requirements
  • Manage project budgets, timelines, and deliverables to ensure successful outcomes
  • Collaborate closely with the Managing Director on project execution and priorities
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies
  • Present technical information clearly to stakeholders and project teams
  • Identify risks, raise concerns, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering team capability
  • Stay current with regulatory changes, environmental considerations, and industry trends

What You Bring

  • Degree in Engineering and Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status
  • 15+ years’ experience in water and wastewater infrastructure, ideally within Australia
  • Strong background across investigation, design, and delivery of infrastructure projects
  • Expertise in areas such as pump stations, pipelines, treatment facilities, and water systems
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise effectively
  • Demonstrated leadership experience and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  • A proactive, adaptable approach with strong organisational skills
  • Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel as required
