Bubbly, diverse and inclusive

Well-travelled, Nicola ranks diversity and inclusivity highly in her employer prerequisites.

“I met with Clare Ferguson after my role at Flight Centre dissolved in 2020. Clare is bright and bubbly and inclusive. I knew she was someone I could really learn from; someone where there could be one million things going on and that still won’t take away from the attention and care she will give to your question.”

“As soon as I walked through the door at Verve Partners, I felt at home and cared for, which is such a rare thing in business these days.”

It was during this initial meeting Clare suggests Nicola become a recruiter.

“I’m such a people person. My strength is building relationships and she recognised this. It’s something I’ve always been really good at, and why I continued to meet strict KPIs in my travel role. In my first year as Assistant Manager at Flight Centre, our store was the second ‘Most Improved’ worldwide. It was no easy feat.”

Powerful women empowering women

Nicola was excited at the prospect of working for a business founded and run by women.

“I’m absolutely loving working for a small business that’s run by women. I had also heard Krystle Parker is an incredible manager who would teach you the ins and outs of recruitment. I wanted a manager who I could learn from and be inspired by, so the opportunity to be managed by Krystle is really exciting.”

On her hopes for her recruitment career over the coming 12 months, Nicola says she will be focusing on finding her niche.

“Office Support is such a varied desk that I think it will offer me every opportunity to learn.”

As Recruitment Consultant at Verve Partners, Nicola McKenzie will continue to support and build client relationships in the Customer Service, Office and Accounts Support space.
