The Opportunity
After recently appointing a graduate into the business, NEACH is returning to market to appoint an additional graduate as part of this growing intake.
 
This role provides an exceptional opportunity for an emerging engineer to launch their career through a structured 36-month program designed to fast-track progression from graduate to Project Manager. Through hands-on rotations, professional certifications, and exposure across the full project lifecycle, the successful candidate will gain the capability and confidence to lead major steel projects from end to end.

The Graduate Journey

Months 0-6 | CNC & Procurement

  • Learn CNC programming and machine operation (Laser Plate Line, Beamline)
  • Assist with steel procurement, purchasing, and supplier coordination

Months 7-12 | Estimating

  • Support take-offs, pricing models, and tender documentation
  • Gain exposure to contracts, commercial management, and project risk

 Months 13-24 | Quality Control

  • Develop strong working knowledge of AS/NZS and ISO standards
  • Support welder qualifications, inspections, and compliance
  • Complete the IIW Basic Welding Inspector certification

 Months 25-30 | Project Engineering

  • Work alongside Project Managers on scheduling, claims, and reporting
  • Coordinate subcontractors, logistics, and site inspections 

Months 31-36 | Transition to Project Manager

  • Lead small projects with full ownership
  • Manage budgets, schedules, safety, and client communication
  • Deliver works on time, on budget, and to specification

 About you

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering
  • Strong technical aptitude and interest in steel fabrication
  • Well-developed communication and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Tekla/CAD experience desirable)
  • Current driver’s licence
