Banlaw, renowned for their excellence in innovative delivery and technical solutions, is seeking a Systems Development Manager. This pivotal role serves as a crucial conduit between the engineering and project teams, ensuring the successful delivery of projects and their continued excellence in delivery and growth plans.

Role Overview:

As a Systems Development Manager at Banlaw, you will find the perfect balance between technical delivery, and continuous product & process improvement with people management. This position offers the opportunity to enhance your technical capacity & understanding while nurturing and developing a team of accomplished engineers. You will play a crucial role in system development and testing across various product platforms, ensuring operational excellence and contributing to a safe, progressive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategy Development: Contribute to the strategic direction and development plans, delivering strategic development plans with a clear focus on operational excellence.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support across service, production, and customer functions. Ensure issues are responded to and resolved within the given SLA timeframe, aiming for a customer feedback satisfaction rate of over 80%.
  • Systems Engineering: Attend project kick-off meetings, liaise with customers to determine project requirements, and work with project managers to achieve outcomes. Ensure projects are completed within scope, budget, and on schedule.
  • Research and Development: Lead R&D initiatives to develop innovative products and solutions. Follow the Research and Development feasibility plan, ensuring projects have less than 2% of costs in warranty, and aim for 20% project customization with 80% product standardization.
  • Operational Excellence: Leverage technology to continuously improve business operations. Ensure team compliance with quality systems, maintain a customer satisfaction indicator above 80% for end-users and 85% for distributors, and retain ISO-9001 and other applicable certifications.
  • Safety, Quality, and Environment: Foster a safety culture, ensuring all regulatory requirements are met, and aim for zero Lost-Time-Injuries (LTIs) and no significant safety incidents.

Qualifications:

  • A strategic thinker with a strong technical background.
  • Proven experience in managing engineering teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving and project management skills.
  • A commitment to operational excellence and safety.
  • Relevant engineering qualifications (e.g., Software, System, Electrical, or Mechatronic Engineering).
